Legal Translation Group was founded by Daniel Wohlstein and Michelle Birch, the same team behind the well-established and highly regarded foreign credential evaluation and translation firm, Global Education Group. Daniel and Michelle launched Global Education Group in 1996 while in graduate school at the University of Miami, School of Business and have over eighteen years of demonstrated success in the foreign credential evaluation and translation services arena as well as significant experience in international business and immigration matters.

Legal Translation Group and Global Education Group are corporate partners of Illocution, a legal/analytics firm that specializes in content-based analysis of Big Data. This partnership gives us an edge over other translation firms in the industry. Daniel Wohlstein, Co-Founder

Mr. Wohlstein holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida and a Licenciado en Contaduría Pública (Licentiate in Public Accounting) from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, Caracas, Venezuela.

Mr. Wohlstein was formerly a Senior Financial Analyst for C.V.G. International America, Inc., part of Corporación Venezolana de Guayana, the second largest corporation in Venezuela at the time. He supervised the Control Unit in C.V.G.’s New York and Miami offices and oversaw various total quality management and reengineering projects. Mr. Wohlstein has extensive professional experience and a broad knowledge of accounting and management science as applied to the international business field. He has owned and managed a trading company in Miami, Florida and an industrial production facility in Venezuela. In addition, Mr. Wohlstein served as a member of the Business Faculty Board at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela from 1986 to 1991.

Mr. Wohlstein was Co-Founder (with Ms. Birch) of Global Education Group, Inc. (GEG) where he was instrumental in creating and designing the business infrastructure for launching the foreign credential evaluation and translation services firm in 1996. He established brand identity and vigorously promoted market visibility as well as successfully collaborated with fellow executives in directing all aspects of daily operations, including execution of winning sales campaigns and promotional events. Further, Mr. Wohlstein maintained hands-on oversight of all financial recordkeeping and accounting processes.

More recently, Mr. Wohlstein served as CEO of Don Prestamo SRL in Peru where he conceptualized and spearheaded all facets of a thriving financial services firm startup, including operations and expansion to ensure profitability. He formulated and established initial and on-going corporate policies and procedures. Mr. Wohlstein also sourced, interviewed, recruited, hired, trained, motivated, and directed a team of 34 personnel at all levels in organizing workflow and attaining cost control goals. In addition, he devised and deployed compelling marketing campaigns and with an in-depth understanding of accounting and computer technologies administered supply procurement, accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Mr. Wohlstein also compiled and submitted status updates to the U.S. management team as the company became profitable and expanded.

Michelle A. Birch, Co-Founder

Ms. Birch holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida as well as a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish/Latin American Studies from The American University, Washington, DC.

In 1996, Ms. Birch co-founded (with Mr. Wohlstein) Global Education Group, Inc., a foreign credential evaluation and translation services firm. Ms. Birch has served as President of this organization overseeing all aspects of foreign credential evaluation, work experience evaluation and translation for over eighteen years. Previous to founding Global, Ms. Birch was Assistant Director for Evaluations at an established foreign credential evaluation firm in Miami, Florida.

Evaluations prepared by Ms. Birch have been accepted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly known as the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service) since 1993. Ms. Birch has completed foreign credential evaluation reports (including transfer credit assessment) for foreign educated individuals from around the world for the following purposes since 1993: applications for immigration status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly known as the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service); applications for professional licensing in various states (C.P.A. examinations, architecture, dentistry, engineering, law, medical laboratory technology, physical therapy, teacher certification); applications for employment in U.S. government agencies (Department of Defense, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Labor Department, Office of Personnel Management); applications for service with the U.S. Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Marines); applications for admission to U.S. high schools, colleges and universities (including transfer credit assessment); and for use by a multitude of other public and private organizations and institutions in the United States and abroad.

Ms. Birch also has a background in Immigration and International Trade Law and has worked for several immigration and international trade law firms in the Washington, D.C. area. Further, she has extensive experience in assisting legal counsel with RFE responses on H-1B visa cases and other immigration matters and has overseen the translation and editing of academic and legal documentation in numerous language pairs for over twenty years.
